On the brink.
Former Ireland and Ulster centre Stuart Olding looks set to make a swift return to rugby following he and Paddy Jackson’s sacking yesterday morning.
Both players were acquitted of rape last month, but both the IRFU and Ulster Rugby decided revoking their contracts regardless was the best course of action.
Jackson is reportedly in talks with French giants Clermont Auvergne, and now it appears Olding also has a club lined up, with Exeter Chiefs said to be close to agreeing a deal with him.
The Sunday World say Olding is ‘on the brink’ of signing with the current Premiership champions. Jackson had previously been linked with Rob Baxter’s side but it now appears his former teammate Olding will be moving to England, while he heads off to France.
