Your Player Ratings As The Lions Devour The Sharks Despite Off Field Distractions

Two from two.

The British and Irish Lions made it two from two in South Africa last night with a 54-7 demolition of the Sharks following a day riddled with disruption.

Two positive cases in camp led to a number of players isolating, forcing Warren Gatland into a number of changes, and leaving the Lions with just one back on the bench.

In came Josh Adams at fullback and Louis Rees Zammit onto the wing, and Farrell and Price at halfback. Out went the likes of Biggar, Davies, Watson, Williams, Beirne and Murray.

But the Lions just got on with it and made pretty light work of the Sharks in the end. Here are your player ratings.

Josh Adams – 9

Thrown it at fullback last minute but it only took him two minutes to bag yet another try. Dotted down two more times in the second half to make it an incredible eight tries in three games for the Welshman. That Test jersey is already his.

Louis Rees-Zammit – 7

Some lovely offloads and kicked well. Scored a great try too.

Elliot Daly – 7

Missed a few tackles but looked dangerous with ball in hand.

Bundee Aki – 7

The Sharks simply could not get this man to the ground at times. Powered through for a super try.

Duhan van der Merwe – 9

Bagged himself a hat-trick to make it four tries in two games. Definitely putting his hand up for a Test jersey.

Owen Farrell – 8

Hitting form at the perfect time. Controlled the game well, some lovely touches and always there in defence.

Ali Price – 7

Much improved on last week. Will be interesting to see how Davies goes when he gets his start.

Mako Vunipola – 6

Looked rusty out there, could so with some more minutes to get him firing.

Luke Cowan-Dickie – 8

Offloaded more than anyone else in the team and looked to get involved where he could. Gatland will be seriously considering him for the Test team.

Zander Fagerson – 7

Held the scrum up well and had some important touches in the build-up to a couple of tries.

Iain Henderson – 8

Won a turnover and topped the tackle count alongside Beard with 14. Another excellent outing for the captain on the day.

Adam Beard – 8

Proved he’s Lions standard with an excellent performance. Won an important turnover and got himself about.

Tom Curry – 7

Some huge tackles in the first half but scoffed up a try.

Josh Navidi – 8

This man is a terminator. Made two tackles in the first minute of the game and proceeded to get stuck in wherever he could.

Sam Simmonds – 8

Made a few of his signatures breaks and floated a lovely pass to van der Merwe’s for one of his tries. Will only get better.
