Madness.
It’s been a crazy day for the British and Irish Lions by all accounts, but the good news is – their match against the Sharks is officially going ahead and will get underway in less than an hour.
But a number of players have been forced to pull out due to the positive COVID-19 case within the camp that has disrupted plans and selection.
Josh Adams will start at fullback with Louis Rees-Zammit on the wing, Anthony Watson and Liam Williams have been forced to pull out. Davies and Biggar are no longer the halfback combination, instead, we will have Ali Price and Owen Farrell at 9 and 10.
The Lions have been forced into a 7-1 bench with Russell the only back. So no Hogg, Harris, Beirne. Itoje, H Watson, Faletau in.
New Lions team
FORWARDS: Vunipola, Cowin-Dickie, Fagerson, Henderson (C), Beard, Navidi, Curry, Simmonds.
BACKS: Price, Farrell, Van der Merwe, Aki, Daly, Rees-Zammit, Adams.
Replacements: Owens, Sutherland, Furlong, Itoje, Conan, Russell, H. Watson, Faletau.
