Following a scan this afternoon, Ben Youngs has been ruled out for the remainder of England’s NatWest Six Nations campaign.
Youngs was injured in the early stages of England’s game against Italy in Rome yesterday. The scans showed the England halfback ruptured his MCL in his left knee and is having further assessment with a surgeon this week.
The Leicester Tigers nine is likely to be out for four months.
England have called up Saracens scrumhalf Richard Wigglesworth to replace him. Wigglesworth, 34, has won 27 England caps but has not played a Test for his country since 2015.
