Hot favourite.
Scarlets head coach Wayne Pivac has emerged as a hot favourite to replace Warren Gatland as Wales boss following the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
Gatland will step down as Wales boss following rugby’s showpiece event next year, and Pivac has confirmed he has held “informal talks with the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU)
Pivac this week told the BBC that, while there had been no formal interview, he had indeed spoken to the WRU about the role.
“[The talks] were nothing major at all. As you’d expect, I’m sure most coaches at the highest level in Wales would have these conversations.”
“But there has not been a formal interview.”
The right man for the job? We certainly think so.
