This one’s for you Rory.
Ireland captain Rory Best is set to join a very exclusive club today when he earns his 100th cap for Ireland. The Ulster front-row has been a revelation since being named Ireland captain following Paul O’Connell’s retirement, playing some of his best rugby in years.
Best has been particularly brilliant during this year’s November internationals with many believing he’s now right up there in contention for a starting spot at next year’s Lions tour of New Zealand alongside England’s Dylan Hartley.
The Ulsterman was a late call-up to the Lions tour in 2013 following Hartley’s suspension and battled it out for a test spot alongside the likes of England and Leicester hooker, Tom Youngs.
The centre turned hooker is one of many player’s to have wished Best well and sent their congratulations as he becomes only Ireland’s 5th player to have reached the 100 club. His tribute is also our favourite of them all.
Check it out below at around the 1:28 mark.
