We knew this was always going to be good.

Munster secured a play-off spot today with a hard fought win over provincial rivals Ulster.

It wasn’t the best of games, with a lot of individual errors, and despite Ulster being the better side on the day- Munster once again managed to creep away the win thanks to a late try by Dave O’Callaghan.

In the earlier kick-off the Cardiff Blues got a huge win over Ospreys, who’s season has fallen apart in recent weeks. This now leaves Munster 11 points clear of the Welsh side, with a home semi-final now almost guaranteed. Ulster will also be thankful for that loss as they are now still in contention for a top four spot.
