This is special.
Mathieu Bastareaud is an absolute monster when he gets going and he gave us a reminder of that this past weekend. The French behemoth has got some serious gas for a big man and is like a train when he comes at defenders at full pace.
The Frenchman has been quiet in recent years and fallen out of the French national side, but will runs like this, could very well end up back in their side for the Six Nations. If he does, there’s no doubt the rest of the nations will take notice.
Toulon beat Racing over the weekend thanks to a simply sensational performance from the centre. The game finished 17-11 in favour of Toulon with Bastareaud winning man-of-the-match for a monstrous display which yielded 13 carries and 71 metres gained.
In the first few minutes he almost opened the scoring with this run.
