Common sense prevails.
Referees could learn a thing or two from Welshman Ian Davies after this wonderful piece of refereeing in tonight’s PRO14 clash between Leinster and Edinburgh at the RDS.
Dave Kearney caught a Johnny Sexton restart just over 10 minutes into the game and was unfortunately taken out by his opposite winger Tom Brown as he made the rather impressive take.
Referee Davies however, didn’t issue Brown with a yellow or even red as we’ve seen in the past as there was a clear and obvious mitigating factor – Kearney had propelled himself into Brown and there was nothing he could do in all honesty.
Superb piece of refereeing.
