Stay home.
England head coach Steve Borthwick has banished Felix Jones from camp and placed him in an advisory role away from the England team after recruiting Joe El-Abd as his new defence coach.
El-Abd’s appointment was confirmed by the RFU on Thursday, with the Oyonaax director of rugby set to continue in his role with the French club until the end of the season, while being a part of the England set-up for the Autumn Nations Series and Six Nations.
Jones shockingly quit his role with England last month after less than a year in the role, with the Irishman set to be frustrated with the “unstable” working enviromment.
According to the Times, Jones has now been told to sit it out at home away from the England squad while he serves his year-long notice period, instead taking up a remote role from him home in Ireland, focusing on analysis.
England welcome New Zealand at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham on Saturday 2 November (kick-off 3.10pm) for their first match of the 2024 Autumn Nations Series, before taking on Australia, South Africa and Japan.
