Eddie Jones doesn’t fancy Ireland’s chances today.
Ireland take on New Zealand today at the Aviva in a mouth-watering return fixture following Ireland’s historic victory in Chicago. Joe Schmidt’s men grabbed five tries that day in an emphatic, 40-29 win, shocking the rugby world.
The All Blacks are now in Dublin, just two weeks later, wounded and out for revenge. Sean O’Brien returns for Ireland while world-class lock pairing Sam Whitelock and Brodie Retallick return for the world champions.
The question for many is can Ireland beat the All Blacks again? Eddie Jones’ England take on Fiji today and understandably his side are 1/100 to win. When asked are England worth the pound, the Australian had this to say.
“Well I think if you took New Zealand and us today you’d get the money.”
Is Jones right? Ireland will be out to prove he’s not today, that’s for sure.
