CJ Stander was told by South Africa that he wasn’t big enough to make it at elite level.
The Munster and Ireland back-row has proved that they couldn’t have been more wrong, becoming one of the best back-rows in world rugby right now.
The monster forward has been the standout player for both Munster and Ireland in the last year or so, leading many to believe he will be on the plane to New Zealand next summer with the British & Irish Lions.
Stander was named man of the match again last night in front of a sold-out Thomond Park, as Munster marched to a home quarter final with a win over Racing 92.
Before the game, Stander was warming up with scrum coach Jerry Flannery and proved that he’s an absolute beast. Watch the video below and you’ll see what we’re talking about.
