Statement.
Wasps have released a statement neither confirming or denying reports that Christian Wade has left the club and will attempt to pursue a career in the NFL.
Multiple reports yesterday emerged, stating that the prolific winger has decided to pack his bags and give up rugby in order to pursue a career in the USA playing American Football.
Wade is said to be frustrated with rugby and the fact that he only has one England cap to his name despite being one of the Premiership’s all-time leading try-scorers.
Wade is not in Wasps’ Champions Cup squad this weekend and this statement has done nothing to cool speculation:
“The Club are aware of speculation regarding the future of Christian Wade.” Wasps said in a statement.
“Unfortunately, we are unable to make any comment at this time but hope to be able to provide an update in the coming days. We will be making no further comment in the meantime.”
