From captain to substitute.
Lions head coach Warren Gatland looks set to drop Peter O’Mahony for the 2nd Test in favour of his tour captain Sam Warburton. O’Mahony has been hugely impressive on tour so far, and was rewarded with the captaincy for the 1st Test as Warburton was benched.
The Welshman came on for O’Mahony in the second-half, and with Gatland heralding his impact in the second-half, he looks set to not only regain a spot in the starting line-up, but his captaincy also.
Gatland is expected to name O’Mahony on the bench with Warburton slotting in at six as he did in the Six Nations. Sean O’Brien and Toby Faletau are expected to retain their spots at 7 and 8 respectively.
