Warren Gatland will be keeping a close eye on the Six Nations this year.
The British & Lions head coach will name his touring side not long after the tournament and he’s already got a few names in mind. The Kiwi name checked the likes of Tadhg Furlong and Owen Farrell a few months back and has now added four more names to his watch list.
Irish fans will be delighted to hear than Robbie Henshaw has caught his attention along with a certain young star in the shape of Gary Ringrose.
The Leinster centre burst onto the international scene with some excellent performances against Australia and New Zealand back in November and looks set to partner Henshaw in Jared Payne’s absence at this year’s Six Nations.
Gatland is also keeping an eye on Scotland’s Stuart Hogg and England prodigy Maro Itoje.
Speaking to The Telegraph Gatland says that a lot of the 2013 tourists will need to improve their form if they’re to be selected in 2017.
There are a lot of guys from 2013 still playing but if they are to be selected for 2017, their form is going to have to improve,” said Gatland.
“There are a lot of things up in the air and there is a lot of exciting talent about.”
Do you think Ringrose will impress at the Six Nations this year and earn a call-up to the Lions?
