Wales have been hit with a massive injury blow ahead of the Six Nations with flanker Josh Navidi set to miss the majority of the championship.
The back-rower has picked up a hamstring problem which is likely to keep him out of action for around a month, according to Simon Thomas of WalesOnline.
The news will likely rule him out of their opening three games against Italy, Ireland and France.
The injury looks to be a reoccurrence of the hamstring problem he picked up against France at the Rugby World Cup in Japan which kept him out for two months.
Navidi is arguably one of Wales’ best players when he is fit but has been hugely unlucky with injury over the last couple of seasons.
Whether or not new boss Wayne Pivac will call up a replacement remains to be seen with Aaron Wainwright, Ross Moriarty, Aaron Shingler, Taulupe Faletau and Justin Tipuric the fine remaining back-rows in Wales’ squad.
The defending champions open up their 2020 campaign with a visit of Italy to the Principality Stadium on Saturday.
