Tawera Kerr-Barlow could be set to join Chief’s teammate Aaron Cruden in France.
Cruden signed a deal last week with Montpellier, worth a reported €800,000 a year, that will see him link up with the French side at the end of the Super Rugby season.
Toulon it seems are now after his teammate Kerr-Barlow, who has 25 caps with the All Blacks to date. The talented scrumhalf is currently third in the pecking order behind Aaron Smith and TJ Perenara.
A move to the south of France would see him link up with fellow All Black Ma’a Nonu who joined the Top 14 side following the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
The French giants are still in contention in both the Top 14 and Europe, but have had a relatively disappointing season by their standards. They have already moved to bring in Chris Ashton and Rugby League star Semi Radradra ahead of next season.
