Wanted man.
It was revealed yesterday that former Leinster playmaker Ian Madigan has asked to be released from his contract with French outfit Bordeaux at the end of the season.
Madigan joined the Top 14 side in the summer, but his French experiment hasn’t worked out as he finds himself in a similar situation to the one he was in at Leinster, where he just simply isn’t getting the game time he desires.
It was reported yesterday by Neill Fissler of The Rugby Paper, that Madigan’s next destination is likely to be Northampton, with the Premiership side looking to fill the void set to be left by another Irishman in JJ Hanrahan.
It’s now been revealed however that Northampton will face some stiff competition from three more English clubs, with Bristol, Gloucester and promotion hopefuls London Irish all hoping they can convince Madigan to sign a deal with them.
