Things Get Heated Between Ronan O’Gara & Matt Williams Following Ireland’s Win Over Wales

Minimum.

Things got a little heated between former Ireland international Ronan O’Gara and Matt Williams today following the Australian’s bizarre comments about Ireland in the wake of their bonus-point win over Wales.

Andy Farrell’s side scored a huge win over last year’s Grand Slam champions to make it two from two in the Six Nations this year following last week’s win over Scotland in the opening round.

And Williams reckons Ireland’s performance today should be the bare minimum side, despite the fact that they just trashed one of the top international sides in the world with a four-try bonus-point win.

“That’s the minimum that’s accepted from that group and those group of coaches,” Williams said.

“What we’ve seen in the last 12 months was rubbish. So that was a really good performance and a huge improvement. That’s the minimum.”

But Ronan O’Gara was having absolutely none of it.

“I disagree with you,” O’Gara said.

“I can certainly tell you that that’s not the minimum. That’s a bonus-point win at home against Wales.

“I don’t think you’ve any idea how difficult that is.”
