Mohed Altrad’s proposed takeover at Gloucester seems to be moving in the right direction.
Gloucester should know if the takeover of Mohed Altrad is approved by the end of January, said club chief executive Stephen Vaughan on Thursday.
Altrad, already the owner of Montpellier, has to wait for the approval of four bodies (the FFR and the RFU, which have already responded positively to the request, as well as World Rugby and EPCR) for the agreement to be concluded.
Speaking to BBC Radio, Vaughan stated that all signs are positive but formal approval is pending. He believes they will have a definitive answer in the next couple of weeks.
“The informal signs are positive, but we are awaiting formal approval,” Vaughan told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
“I would say that in the next two weeks we will have a definitive answer.”
What do you make of Altrad’s proposed takeover? Is it something that should be allowed, or does it bring complications with it?
