Francis Saili’s stay at Munster may be short-lived.
The former All Black centre was one of the few positives to come out of a disappointing display on all fronts from the southern province last season. He earned high praise for his performances in both the PRO12 and Champions Cup but is yet to feature this season due to shoulder surgery during the summer.
Our sources now tell us that he will indeed not be offered a new contract when his expires at the end of this season. The Kiwi is said to be on a whopping €500,000 a year with Munster, however its not known if the province simply can’t afford to reinvest in the centre, or they simply don’t see the value in reinvesting.
Reports today suggest Munster are set to complete the signing of Grenoble centre Chris Farrell who is set to take Saili’s place at 13. Saili is set to return to Munster in early February, in what could be his last run of games with the province.
