The Rugby World Cup will remain free-to-air in 2019 and 2023.
ITV have announced that they have secured the television rights to the 2019 and 2023 Rugby World Cups after seeing off competition from Sky.
Sky also expressed interest in 2011 and 2015 with ITV managing to secure rights for £60 million.
The value of the rights has soared since the massive success of the 2015 event in England.
The 2019 tournament will be broadcast in Ireland by Eir Sport with 13 games set to be free-to-air, including Ireland’s matches and all the ties in the knockout stages of the tournament.
