Ireland Dominate Six Nations Team Of The Tournament So Far

Final round.

The 2018 Six Nations Championship heads into it’s final round this weekend with three more huge fixtures on Saturday.

England vs Ireland headlines ‘Super Saturday,’ with Joe Schmidt’s men chasing a Grand Slam, having already secured the championship in round four. England meanwhile will be hoping they can bounce back after losing two games on the trot for the first time under Eddie Jones.

Scotland will be hoping to finish strong with a win in Rome against Italy, while Wales will be hoping to avenge their controversial loss to France and claim second spot in the process.

But which players have impressed up until now? We’ve decided to have a crack at picking a team of the tournament ahead of the final round, with champions Ireland understandable dominating our XV. No fewer than eight of Joe Schmidt’s men have made the cut.

They’re joined by one each from England, France, Italy and Wales, along with three Scottish players.

(Note we’ve gone for John Barclay at eight, due to no real standouts in that position. CJ Stander has been good though. If he has a big game tomorrow, he may overtake the Scotland captain in our final team.)
