Crocked.
England boss Eddie Jones will be a nervous man this week after watching a couple of his international stars pick up injuries in Saracens’ Champions Cup win over Glasgow yesterday.
Both Vunipola brothers – Mako and Billy were forced off with respective injuries in the game at Scotstoun. Prop Mako picked up an ankle problem and was seen with crutches and a protective boot, while Bill left clutching his arm – the opposite one he broke twice last season.
Eddie Jones names his England squad for the Autumn internationals on Thursday and could be in big trouble if both players are ruled out as he’s already facing a bit of a crisis in both of their positions.
In terms of loosehead prop, Joe Marler has just retired while other options Ellis Genge and Matt Mullan are currently injured. And at number 8, Sam Simmonds on the long-term injury list, while Nathan Hughes is likely to be banned.
Not good news for England or Saracens at all.
