Sale Sharks are reportedly lining up a double South African swoop.
The English Premiership side are chasing Springbok scrumhalf Faf De Klerk and Stade Francais back-row Jono Ross according to The Rugby Paper.
Sharks Director of Rugby Steve Diamond is keen to strengthen his side and has been linked with a number of players in recent week including Australian misfit James O’Connor, who is looking for a new club with Toulon not renewing his contract at the end of the season.
25 year-old scrumhalf has become a key player for Super Rugby franchise the Lions, and would no doubt become the first choice nine at the AJ Bell Stadium. Mike Phillips is set to leave at the end of the season, with the South African seen as an ideal replacement.
He has fallen out of favour with Springboks coach Allister Coetzee, so a move could definitely be on the cards. Ross could be the latest to leave Stade Francais as they look to balance their books amidst a financial crisis.
