Whoops.
PRO14 have released a statement confirming they made a mistake earlier today in terms of the seeding for next season’s expanded 24-team Champions Cup.
Connacht were listed as Tier 4 team with Glasgow Warriors in Tier 4 when it fact it should have been the other way round.
The eight highest-ranked teams from the Conference tables from Round 13 will represent the Guinness PRO14 in the Heineken Champions Cup for the 2020/21 season, with the standings as follows:
Conference A: Leinster – 61 points, Ulster – 43 points, Glasgow – 34 points, Dragons – 22 points
Conference B: Edinburgh – 47 points, Munster – 45 points, Scarlets – 37 points, Connacht – 35 points
The updated seedings for what tiers each team fits into the Champions Cup will be as follows:
Tier 1: Both Guinness PRO14 Finalists for the 2019/20 season.
Tier 2: Both losing semi-finalists from the 2019/20 season.
Tier 3: Scarlets (37 pts after R13), Connacht (35 pts after R13)
Tier 4: Glasgow Warriors (34 pts after R13), Dragons (22 pts after R13).
