Premiership Side Confirm They Are In Talks With ‘Missing’ Leone Nakarawa

Found.

Former European Player of the Year Leone Nakarawa has made headlines in recent weeks after his club Racing 92 claimed he was ‘missing’ after he didn’t turn up for club duty following the Rugby World Cup.

Pacific Rugby Welfare have insisted he is finishing building a house in Fiji with the club’s blessing and his agent has been in communication with the Parisians.

But his future with the Top 14 side remains up in the air after he was suspended, with the lock reportedly set to be given his marching orders.

And now Sale Sharks boss Steve Diamond has claimed the Premiership side are in talks with Nakarawa about a possible move as his looks to get some reinforcements in following injuries to Josh Beaumont and Springbok Lood de Jager who is yet to feature for them after injuring his shoulder in the World Cup final.

“We are looking for a high-quality lock,” Diamond said.

“He’s apparently gone missing but we’ve tracked him down and we’re in negotiations at the moment.”

Nakarawa has also been linked with a move to Clermont by Midi Olympique as cover for the injured Judicael Cancoriet.
