Player Ratings As Dismal Ireland Are Battered By England At Twickenham

Brutal.

Ireland’s dreams of a Triple Crown were crushed by England today thanks to a completely dominant performance by the World Cup finalists at Twickenham.

Andy Farrell’s side were beat up from start to finish with the 24-12 scoreline flattering Ireland who never looked like winning the game. Mistakes from Johnny Sexton and Jacob Stockdale proved to be costly with England leading 17-0 at the break.

The men in green fought back in the second half with two tries of their own but things got a little messy and England look like they took their foot off the pedal to a certain extent.

Here are your Ireland player ratings.

15. JORDAN LARMOUR – 5

Struggled in the air post physically and positionally. Completely shut down in attack too.

14. ANDREW CONWAY – 6

Didn’t get much of the ball in attack but was solid in defence and did his job for the most part.

13. ROBBIE HENSHAW– 6

Scored a good try but was caught flatfooted in defence on a number of occasions and never threatened in attack.

12. BUNDEE AKI – 4

Lots of handling errors and pretty much dead in attack.

11. JACOB STOCKDALE – 4

Still can’t understand what he was thinking for Daly’s try. Especially considering England had a penalty advantage. Just make sure of it.

10. JOHNNY SEXTON – 3

A brutal rating for a truly brutal performance.

9. CONOR MURRAY – 3

It’s time Murray was dropped and Cooney was given a chance. Just not on form. Needs to rediscover himself and a stint on the bench might help.

1. CIAN HEALY – 4

Gone after 25 mins.

2. ROB HERRING – 5

Lineouts were poor today and very quiet in the loose.

3. TADHG FURLONG – 4

A rare poor game from the Wexford man.

4. DEVIN TONER –  5

Solid in defence but once again showed he just gets destroyed in attack every time.

5. JAMES RYAN – 6

Itoje got the better of him but Ryan still put in a good shift compare to his teammates.

Fought all day but couldn’t do it on his own.

Completely outshone by Underhill.ff

Another man who gave his all but couldn’t do it on his own.
