Roll out the red carpet, the Lions are in town.
The British and Irish Lions signed off in style last night before they flew out this morning to New Zealand for this summer’s eagerly anticipated Test series.
A farewell event at the Roundhouse music venue in London gave Warren Gatland’s side a chance to enjoy a relaxed evening before they begin a gruelling 10 match tour of New Zealand that includes a three-match Test series with the All Blacks.
The Lions do not arrive in Auckland until Wednesday, following a stopover in Melbourne, and will make the 100-mile journey north to Whangarei on Friday.
