Pumas Test.
Ireland made it two from two this past weekend with a win against Fiji, albeit in a much less convincing manner than the week before against the Springboks.
Head coach Joe Schmidt made 13 changes for that game, and while it can be seen as a missed opportunity for a lot of the players that were given some rare starts, some of them emerged with a bit of credit.
For this weekend’s clash with Argentina, we imagine Schmidt will likely revert back to the experienced line-up he put out against the Boks, with perhaps one or two changes. This is Ireland’s first Test against Argentina since Los Pumas dumped them out of the 2015 Rugby World Cup and Schmidt’s men will no doubt want to right that wrong.
In the front-row the big question is whether or not he starts Healy or McGrath. We reckon the former edges it right now ahead of his Lions teammate. In the second-row Devin Toner probably wasn’t expected to start against Fiji, but an injury to James Ryan saw him thrust in. Schmidt may want to give Ryan a start during the series, and should he recover, may partner Iain Henderson.
As for 6-15, expect the same men that lined out against South Africa. While many fans would probably prefer to see Conway at fullback and someone like Darren Sweetnam brought in on the wing, Schmidt will likely once again go with Rob Kearney.
