What a weekend it’s been for Irish Rugby in the Champions Cup so far.
Leinster kicked off proceedings last night with an emphatic bonus-point win at Northampton with Ulster and Munster completing a famous treble today to leave the province’s with maximum points so far this weekend.
Ulster’s game with Clermont will probably go down as game of the weekend, with the northern province running out 39-32 winners in an absolutely thrilling game. Two tries from Luke Marshall, and one each from Jackson, Henderson and Piutau has put Les Kiss’ men right back in the hunt for the knockout stages.
The highlight of the game however was a wonderful Nevin Spence tribute spotted by the lads over at SportsJoe. Scrumhalf Ruan Pienaar went down injured and as he received treatment the cameras picked up the doctor’s bag, which features a wonderful tribute to late Ulster star.
The former centre tragically lost his life along with his brother and father in a farming accident back in 2012. The bag reads ‘Nevin Spence, always with us.’
Top class from Ulster and a famous win over French giants Clermont to go along with it.
