Mike Phillips has a bit of a history with the Irish twitter community.
Phillips yesterday announced his retirement from International rugby after a decorated career on the world stage. One of his proudest moments, which he likes to remind us about is the time Wales knocked Ireland out of the Rugby World Cup at the quarter final stage in 2011. Just ask One Direction’s Niall Horan

Following his announcement Phillips plugged a BBC documentary today entitled ‘The Real Mike Phillips’. Paul O’Connell felt that the makers wouldn’t get to the heart of the real Mike Phillips unless they showed him enjoying a night on the town. Here’s how the exchange unfolded.
