Paul O’Connell will be part of Munster U-19s’ backroom team for their game against Japan U-19s at Irish Independent Park next Wednesday.
The retired second-row will act as a technical advisor for Munster on the day. This isn’t the first time O’Connell has taken up this role, having done something similar with a Munster development side agains the Ireland 20s back in December.
The former Munster, Lions and Ireland captain is currently working with the southern province’s academy in a mentoring role on a contract that expires this summer.
Whether or not he will have further involvement with Munster once it expires, remains to be seen.
Munster fans will no doubt be hoping that O’Connell stays on and has a part to play in the development of Munster’s next set of future stars.
