Incredible.
All eyes last night were on the return of Chris Farrell for Munster ahead of next month’s Six Nations Championship. But it was another Farrell by the name of Tom playing on the opposite side that has everyone talking.
The 25-year-old Connacht centre has been electric all season for the western province, with Joe Schmidt recently inviting him to train with the Ireland squad as a just reward.
But after las night’s game against Munster, the Ireland boss could go one better and name the powerful centre in his squad later this month. And we wouldn’t be one bit surprised.
Competition is stiff in the centres at the moment – but Farrell’s performances have been so good, he might just make it. He currently leads the way in a number of key stats in the PRO14, including offloads with 19 before last night’s game. Certainly an option Schmidt will want to look at.
