Whoops.
Peter O’Mahony’s tenure as Irish captain couldn’t have gotten off to a better start last night following a record win over France in Marseille.
Ireland’s previous away record win (7 points) against France came way back in 1948, with Ireland’s obliterating that last night with a 21-point, 38-17 win at the Stade Velodrome.
O’Mahony led from the front as always, with the likes of Jack Crowley, Joe McCarthy, Bundee Aki, and Calvin Nash putting in inspired performances alongside the rest of the men in green as they ran in five tries against a hapless French side.
But O’Mahony couldn’t prevent himself from dropping an accidental f-bomb midway through the first half during an exchange with referee Karl Dickson.
Dickson pulled the Irish captain on his indecisiveness, telling him to hurry up on his call as to whether Ireland would kick for goal or not before explaining some issues he saw at the ruck.

O’Mahony dropped the bomb was pleading Ireland’s case but recovered well!
“We’re like trying to practice to not fuckin’…take that extra bit,” O’Mahony said before realising his slip of the tongue.
“We’ll endeavour to get that ball back as quickly as we can…”
Nothing quite like a fancy word like “endeavour” to restore that decorum, Pete! Brilliant stuff from the skipper.
