Munster’s Tommy O’Donnell has been forced to withdraw from Ireland’s summer tour.
The back-row forward has picked un an ankle injury and has been replaced in the squad by Ulster’s Sean Reidy.
New Zealand-born Reidy, who has one cap for Ireland that came in 2016, has been in fine form in the PRO12 for Ulster this season. A huge blow for O’Donnell who has failed to make the last couple of Ireland squads.
Update: @TommyoDonnell87 ruled out of tour to @USARugby & @JRFURugby with ankle injury. @sean_reidy7 will join the squad in Japan. #TeamOfUs pic.twitter.com/vmW3yUOFxi
