What a coup.
Scarlets lock Tadhg Beirne looks set to sign for Munster in time for next season after turning down a new two-year contract with the Welsh region.
Irishman Beirne is a product of the Leinster academy, and after struggling to break in their first team, moved to Wales where’s he enjoyed an incredible run of form.
The Welsh region are said to be desperate to keep a hold of him, but the lure of international rugby is said to have swayed Beirne’s decision to move back to Ireland, with Joe Schmidt a keen admirer.
The move makes perfect sense, with Beirne set to fill the void left by Donnacha Ryan for both Munster and Ireland.
