Munster & Ireland Outhalf Joey Carbery Suffers Yet Another Injury Blow

Munster and Ireland outhalf Joey Carbery has suffered yet another injury setback with his province revealing he has been advised to get further surgery on an ongoing ankle problem.

Carbery is currently out rehabbing a wrist injury but attended an ankle specialist last week who advised further surgery to rectify an issue that kept him sidelined for several months last season.

And since Carbery is currently out with his wrist, he and Munster have decided to go ahead with the ankle surgery meaning he will likely miss the rest of the 2019/20 before hopefully returning to full fitness ahead of next season.

With Munster already out of the Champions Cup getting the surgery done is probably a smart move for both him and Munster.

Tadhg Beirne will also be back next season with Damien de Allende and RG Snyman also arriving so perhaps it’s time to start looking ahead and hope for a bit more luck come the 2020/21 campaign.
