Munster Forced To Wear Away Jersey For Thomond Park Clash

This is hard to believe.

You might have noticed that Munster wore their home red jersey in last weeks humbling in Paris against Stade Francais. Apparently Munster ‘mistakenly’ failed to pack their alternate black strip but thankfully Stade were accommodating and allowed the southern province to wear their red strip while Stade wore their pink and white strip to avoid a colour clash.

Stade have understandably asked that Munster return the favour this weekend, forcing Munster to wear black at home. Normally this wouldn’t be a huge issue but this is the weekend of the BOI Sponsor for a day competition. Shannon-based CelgenTek were this year’s winners and the province confirmed their logo would appear on the jersey this weekend despite the kit change.

The jersey’s were already unveiled and produced obviously at a cost. Munster must now create another set of jersey’s with the company’s logo. Munster’s financial issues have been made very public and you have to say, this really isn’t good enough.

Much has been said about the current state of Munster both on and off the pitch and if you can’t do something as simple as pack the right jerseys you really have to question what’s going on with Munster.

Let’s just hope the players can silence the critics. #SUAF
