Bonus-point.
Munster got their domestic season off to a perfect start as they defeated the Cheetahs 38-0 at Thomond Park in the Guinness PRO14 this evening.
New signings Neil Cronin, Arno Botha and Joey Carbery all impressed as Johann van Grann’s side ran in six tries to ensure maximum points on the opening day of the season.
Rory Scannell bagged Munster’s first thanks to an excellent bit of footwork from Man of the Match Darren Sweetnam who was immense on the day, continuing where he left off in pre-season. Dave Kilcoyne then added a second Munster try before half-time.
The second-half saw Munster really kick into gear – bagging four tries with Tommy O’Donnell, JJ Hanrahan, Dave O’Callaghan and Darren Sweetnam all dotting down.
The perfect start for the southern province, but tougher challenges no doubt await. Starting with Glasgow next week.
