Legend.
Ireland’s got their 2023 Rugby World Cup campaign off to the perfect start earlier today with a thumping 82-8 win over Romania in Bordeaux.
Andy Farrell’s side bagged 12 tries, including braces from Bundee Aki, Johnny Sexton, and Peter O’Mahony, in a comprehensive win in their opening match that sets them up nicely for Tonga next week.
One man who played a key role off the bench, who wasn’t originally supposed to be involved, was Mack Hansen. The winger was drafted in at the last minute to replace Robbie Henshaw, who was left out as a precaution with a niggle.
Hansen saw plenty of ball when he got on as Ireland made light work of their opposition – but he also impressed after the final whistle, giving away his shorts to a young fan in the crowd.
Andy Farrell found it hilarious when he spotted Hansen walking off the pitch in nothing but his undies and we can’t blame him! Hansen is a fantastic character in rugby and no doubt made that kid’s World Cup.
Andy Farrell in stitches at Hansen, looks like he's snapping a pic of the Ireland wing here. pic.twitter.com/Eq7plfRrc5
