37 men were lucky enough to be named as British and Irish Lions players yesterday afternoon ahead of this summer’s tour of South Africa as hype for the series begins to seriously ramp up.

Being named as a Lion is one of the highest honours a British or Irish rugby player can achieve in his career but as far as we’re concerned – the best part about it is the incredible amount of stash each player will get this summer.

Everyone loves getting rugby gear and the Lions stash the players are set to get, courtesy of Canterbury, is absolutely class.

Now that they know they’re on the plane to South Africa in July, the players will meet up in the coming weeks for an event traditionally known as ‘Messy Monday.’

This will be an opportunity for them to meet up as a squad for the first time and get a team photo – but more importantly, it’s where they’ll get their crazy amount of gear. The last time around each player got two massive kit bags.

Inside was nine sets of training kit, 15 gym t-shirts, vests and all sorts of Lions merchandise. They also got two suits, plenty of shirts and even a pair of shoes!
