Lion second-row Maro Itoje is set to become the Premiership’s first £1,000,000 man.
The talented lock was one of the star performers in New Zealand, and is quickly becoming one of the world’s very best players at just 22 years of age. Itoje is under contract with Saracens until 2019, but attempts to lure him away have taken place according to The Rugby Paper.
One English team reportedly offered the England star £850,000 a season and it’s thought that Saracens will be forced to fork out £1,000,000+ a season to keep him at the club when contract talks come up for negotiation.
If you ask us, he’s worth every bloody penny.
