Washed up.
Former All Blacks playmaker Lima Sopoaga, who currently plies his trade in the Gallagher Premiership with Wasps, was a guest on BT Sport’s Rugby Tonight for the first time last night and he certainly didn’t disappoint.
Sopoaga was the highlight of the show, talking all things rugby including New Zealand’s state of mind after a disappointing November series that saw them edge past England and lose 16-9 to Ireland at the Aviva Stadium.
But he left his best remarks for the closing part of the show when a fan asked him ‘would he ever want to play rugby in America?’ Sopoaga’s response was priceless…
“Maybe when I’m washed up…” Sopoaga said,
“Maybe when I’m 36 to collect one final pay check”
Does the prospect of playing in America interest @LimaSopoaga?
What an answer
