How have Leinster managed to lure this man to Ireland?
Leinster bound James Lowe put in another magnificent performance early this morning, bagging a hat-trick as the Chiefs defeated the Waratahs in Super Rugby.
Lowe was outstanding in scoring three tries in the 46-31 victory at FMG Stadium Waikato, while also having a big hand in two others, producing game-high numbers in run metres (181), clean breaks (four) and offloads (six), and also beating four defenders.
Lowe however, insists there’s no ‘what-ifs’ in terms of All Blacks aspirations, ahead of his departure overseas.
“I feel I’ve been playing probably at the best that I have been for a couple of years now, and there’s a bit of a logjam up top, and a great opportunity came up with a club that everyone speaks so highly of,” he said.
“It’s only three years, I’ll be 27, 28, and then I’ll reassess where I’m at, if I’m happy over there, if I’m not. If I feel I can still give more back in New Zealand then who knows, I could be back.
“It’s a good chance to travel the world while I’m still young.
“It’s an exciting prospect, it’s something I don’t really think about too much, you can’t, as soon as your head’s on that plane you’re going to be on the backburner.”
Exciting times ahead for Lowe and Leinster.
