Leigh Halfpenny could be set to walk away from Toulon amid reports he is not happy with how the French side have conducted contract negotiations.
Halfpenny’s deal with the French giants is set to expire at the end of the season with Halfpenny turning down a £420,000 dual-contract move back to Cardiff Blues earlier in the season over a disagreement with the length of the contract.
The Lions star has apparently verbally agreed a deal with Toulon, worth a reported £750,000 a season that would see him remain with the Top 14 side for one more season, with an option for a second.
WalesOnline however, are reporting that a written deal is yet to be put in front of the Welshman and he has threatened to walk away if a contract is not signed by the time he leaves for Lions duty next Monday.
“Leigh is happy at Toulon, but he is not happy with the way his negotiations have been going,” said a source close to the player.
“He wants this done before he leaves next Monday with the Lions or he will look for another club.
“It has gone on long enough.”
His situation is apparently being monitored by a number of Premiership club including Wasps.
