Munster secured their place in the knockout stages of the Champions Cup for a record 18th time last night with a hard fought 9-7 win over the Exeter Chiefs at Thomond Park.
The southern province had to battle hard in a game that felt like a Test match at times, relying solely on the boot of outhalf Joey Carbery who finished with a 100% kicking record for the fourth successive game.
The talented playmaker hit an incredible milestone in the process, having kicked his last 20 kicks at goal in-a-row. Carbery has an 84% conversion rate this season in Europe and an 87% conversion rate in the PRO14.
Munster have struggled from the boot in recent seasons, making Carbery’s impact all the more telling. Could he be the man to help finally end their wait for a trophy?
