Joe Schmidt Set To Spring A Few MASSIVE Surprises In His 31-Man World Cup Squad

Final 31.

Ireland boss Joe Schmidt looks set to spring a few massive surprises in his 31-man squad for the Rugby World Cup in Japan. The Ireland boss isn’t set to officially reveal his squad until the weekend but must submit it to World Rugby today.

But as expected the squad is already starting to leak to the press, with Devin Toner set to be the most high profile casualty in the squad. Munster’s Jean Kleyn looks set to be named instead of the giant lock, alongside James Ryan, Tadhg Beirne and Iain Henderson.

Elsewhere, Luke McGrath looks set to get the nod over Kieran Marmion, with Will Addison securing a spot on the plane to Japan ahead of Chris Farrell due to his versatility.

Jordi Murphy could also miss out on selection with Schmidt appearing to be in favour of bringing Rhy Ruddock instead.
