Toulon utility back James O’Connor is in line for a move to the Premiership.
The troubled Wallaby recently found himself in hot water after being caught buying cocaine by police along with former All Black Ali Williams. His contract with Toulon is up at the end of the season, with the French club admitting it will not be renewed.
O’Connor was hoping to move back home and play his way into Michael Cheika’s Rugby World Cup squad, but his latest misdemeanour has ended all hope of that.
The Rugby Paper have now revealed that O’Connor is close to finalising a deal with the Worcester Warriors, having also held preliminary talks with Bristol.
Worcester have been in the market for an outhalf for some time now, with the move for O’Connor meaning a deal for Ian Keatley is now off. In the same article, The Rugby Paper are also reporting that Donnacha O’Callaghan is set to sign a new one-year contract extension with the English side.
