The Lions captaincy may be back up for grabs after Sam Warburton limped off against Ulster tonight.
The 2013 tour captain is the bookies favourite for the role in New Zealand this summer, with a number of bookmakers even suspending betting on the Welsh forward to be handed the role by Warren Gatland.
Warburton received medical attention tonight just before half-time with what appeared to a knee issue. After a couple of minutes of attention from the medial staff, Warburton was forced off, looking pretty dejected.
Gatland names his team in 12 days and if Warburton’s problem is serious, may look to draft in someone else as captain. That is presuming he’s going with Warburton as things stand.
As soon as we know more on the injury, we’ll be sure to update you.
